The Casual Wedding…It’s Not For Everyone

…but I am OBSESSED.  My wedding was of course one of the most amazing days of my life but  if I could go back and do it all over again I would do it completely differently.  I immediately went straight to all things traditional…White (well, off-white) full-skirt dress, black tuxes, inside a grand venue…it was beautiful, but like I said I would do it differently now.  For me a casual wedding doesn’t mean every one in jeans and t-shirts its more about the vibe I get from it.  The DIY touches, the venue, the decor, it all plays a part in making the perfect comfy casual wedding. So, since I can’t go back, I’m going to have fun pretending in this post!  I have been adding these amazing laid-back weddings to my favorites bar for months so here are some of my top casual weddings.
In honor of the fact that I actually live in the desert lets start there.  I just want to be a guest at this wedding.  Desserts look amazing, the decor makes you feel comfortable and casual, and my favorite part…horse parking!  Every amazing old-school western wedding needs horse parking.

I love this next wedding.  It screams light, bright and happiness for life.  All of the DIY touches throughout, from the ‘Reception’ sign to the hand written seat assignment lists I just can’t get enough.  Something that really stands out in this wedding is in this picture of the bridesmaids and groomsman.  They are standing all together which is different from the traditional, girls on the left, boys on the right and I love it, it really shows that the Bride and Groom wanted to do things their way rather than what is traditional.  This is casual wedding elegance at its finest.

Nothing says relaxed like a breezy beach wedding.  This casual wedding in Bali is just that. The two long reception tables I adore, its small and intimate and it just doesn’t get any better for a beach wedding.

Of course I must have a celebrity wedding on here and who did casual better in 2013 than Kate Bosworth.  My favorite part of this wedding is what they both changed into for the reception.  Her groom, Film Director, Michael Polish went from fancy and clean-cut to hipster and hot in a button-down, skinny jeans, and boots for the reception.  When you think celebrity wedding, you think over the top, lavish, and huge.  Not this wedding, its understated, quaint, and unique but at the same time you can tell how much thought was put into every single detail.

I vote YES on the Casual Wedding.  Comment and tell me what you think of them!
