Tips and Ideas for Choosing the Most Amazing Wedding Shoes

So you think your daunting tasks end once you have picked your wedding gown? Not at all, ladies! Choosing the perfect pair of wedding shoes is quite a delicate matter, as this accessory can truly make or break your wedding day.

Besides matching your dress, venue and personal style, this tricky accessory needs to fit really well so it doesn’t spoil your big day. Wedding shoes need to look achingly chic and be comfortable at the same time. And buying them in advance to break them in so they mould to fit your bridal feet is one of the smartest things you could do!

The choice of fabric may vary from crepe, silk or matte satin to lace and leather, even if most brides pick a shoe color that matches the shade of their wedding dress. You can also splurge on some bling and go for a pretty pair of shoes embellished with crystals, rhinestones, glitzy or glass heels, especially if your dress is rather simple. On the other hand if you choose to dazzle in an elaborate gown, simple shoes are your best option.

Remember also to pick shoes that match the theme and venue of your wedding, so if you go for a beach wedding wear embellished flip-flops, if you need to walk on cobblestone wear at least a pair of wedges, while if you celebrate your affair during the cold season go for a pair of fab, closed ankle booties.

One important thing, ladies: if you are used to sashaying like divas in 4” on a daily basis then definitely go for high heels (they also slenderize the silhouette), but if you are the sneaker and flats type, my advice is not to feel too heroic on your big day and just go for kitten heels, wedges or ballerina shoes. Otherwise after a while you will start looking for chairs, eventually switching to flats anyway.

I thought you might enjoy a little inspiration, so here are my all-time 12 favorite wedding shoes that suit every taste. If you could pick just one, which one would it be?
