You want an unconventional wedding dress, but you are not interested in anything pink, gold or black. You are aiming for a surprising cut, something that looks sexy and can be recycled, at the same time (Keira Knightley would love your initiative!). Ever thought of bridal separates? You’re welcome!
This year has seen a glorious rise in popularity of crop tops and billowy skirts. Oh-so-sexy crop tops literally invaded the ready-to-wear runways some seasons ago and they don’t seem to be going anywhere. A beloved celebrity trend (I’ve seen it a lot on the red carpet!), this year it also infiltrated designer wedding dress collections.
A crop top is without doubt perfect for a playful bride who wants to add a personal touch to her bridal outfit, is daring and self-confident and, last but not least, has toned abs to display.
Believe it or not, baring your midriff can be classy with the proper outfit. You just need to:
- Go for a loose top instead of a micro piece that resembles a sports bra
- Match the top with a high-waisted skirt in order to show the narrowest section of your torso (displaying your belly button is a no-no)
- Bare just a minimum of your midsection (a mere flash of skin will do)
- Strategically balance bare skin with a high neckline
A versatile choice that makes petite ladies look taller, accentuates beautiful hourglass shapes and adds smooth curves to rather athletic bodies, the crop top can be an unexpected yet utterly feminine choice. Oh, and if revealing skin is a tad too much for you, choose a sheer midriff instead. It will still add a sexy touch to your look.
Below you can admire some of this year’s hottest wedding designer crop tops. Would you channel one down the aisle, dear brides-to-be?
