Unique Cake Toppers

Whether you prefer a classic, realistic cake topper like the one pictured above, or a more whimsical one, like those below, there are toppers to suit every personality and style.  There’s no need to be bound by tradition:  it’s your wedding, do what you like!

Here’s a more classic, yet unique approach to a cake topper.  A heart shaped metal bird cage adorned with edible fondant flowers holds a pair of doves on a swing.  This precious pair gaze lovingly into one another’s eyes, and will be sure to elicit more than a few ooh’s and aah’s at your reception.  What’s even better is that you can use this topper as a decoration in your new home.  While it has a sentimental value for both you and your spouse, it isn’t overly mushy and can fit in nicely with any décor.

Are you and your mate a fan of animals?  This topper above should get your gears turning.  Made out of sculpy clay, toppers like these are easy to make if you have a little artistic flair.  You can create any creature out of sculpy, and whether you make them yourself or commission an artist to make them for you, choosing animals that fit your personalities will be a great deal of fun.

Made out of simple wooden figurines and painted by hand these cake toppers are personalized to the bride and groom.  With a handmade bouquet of paper roses, and a tiny twist of metal for the groom’s glasses, adorable accessories make this wooden bride and groom personalized.  Again, these are simple enough to make at home, and will add a heart-warming touch to your wedding celebration.

Made of porcelain glazed in an ivory hue, this embracing couple is elegant and romantic.  This cake topper is a great option if you’re looking for a more classic look, but you’re not a fan of the realistic looking bride and groom topper.  With smooth, soft lines, this pristine white topper would look lovely on a cake of any hue, from violet to turquoise.  Just make sure the height of your wedding cake corresponds well to the topper.  You don’t want your topper to outshine your cake, no matter how beautiful it is.

Or perhaps traditional isn’t your style:

Here’s something completely different, a colorful cake topper inspired by Dia de los Muertos.  Although not for everyone, this unique idea would fit in perfectly at a fiesta themed reception.  If you’re looking for something a bit more eclectic, this would fit right up your alley.  A topper like this would look wonderful on top of a brightly colored wedding cake.

Don’t be afraid to step out of the box, like having a unique cake topper, but remember to be yourself!  This is your special day:  don’t let anything stand in the way of what you want.  You deserve the best!
