Some brides slip all their small essentials into their moms’ purses and just ask for them whenever they need anything. Some keep their stuff in a venue room where they can disappear from time to time for quick touch-ups. Others would rather have pockets on their wedding gowns …
I personally think wedding purses are an elegant touch that complements every bridal ensemble. In fact, any dress without a matching bag looks like an unfinished business, wouldn’t you agree?
I’m not saying you should carry it around all the time or stuff it like it was the Thanksgiving turkey. A wedding clutch can only carry so much, and trying to over-pack it would look totally wrong. However, make sure you stash in a few essentials that will make your life easier on your big day.
Your bridal bag should contain a pocket mirror (to check and repair any smudged mascara – the tears!, or lipstick – your hubby’s passionate kisses!), bobby pins (for a gorgeous hairstyle that stays in place all day), a lippie (I just told you your husband’s kisses will keep wiping it off), tissues (from tears to unexpected allergies or a cold, these will come in handy) and blotting papers (there’s nothing more refreshing than blotting your visage on a hectic day). You might also slip in an aspirin or the pain killer of your choice, just in case. You don’t want any kind of pain to spoil your wedding day!
The offer of wedding clutches and purses is, as with all bridal accessories, overwhelming. From rhinestones and sequins to ostrich feathers, lace or ruched satin you can choose whatever matches your dress, shoes, or even wedding color.
Here is a collection of my favorite wedding clutches and purses ranging from glamorous and lavish to vintage, traditional and eccentric. What say you, girls: yay or nay?
